A Brief Art Biography

My parents enrolled me in art classes throughout my schooling at Villa Maria in Montreal, and I continued my art studies at Concordia University, graduating with a BA degree , psychology.

After graduation I married my high-school sweetheart, John, and we eventually relocated  to Calgary with our 2 daughters, where I established a Stock Photography Company & worked as a commercial artist alongside my commercial-photographer husband.

In 1993, with the girls out on their own, I undertook the five year Bachelor of Fine Arts program at the Alberta College of Art & Design, winning the Gregory Arnold Scholarship Award & the Illingworth Kerr Scholarship Award.

My work was accepted at the Harrison Galleries, only to be stolen in a "theft by demand" break-in art heist. I was devastated, but John said I should be very flattered that someone was willing to do "jail-time" to own my art.

My paintings are realistic depictions of the places and scenes closest to my heart.

I hope people view my work with fondness and recognition of favorite places, and

with anticipation of the discovery of new places.

I work exclusively in the pastel medium, focusing primarily on Coastal Landscapes.

I use only the best archival materials and frames to ensure longevity to my pieces.

My work is found in corporate & private collections in Canada, the USA, Asia, and Europe.

I continue to paint every day in my studio/gallery on Pender Island.

It is shaping up to be a busy year, with several art shows and a new gallery representation at Gallery 8 on Saltspring Island in the town of Ganges.

I also have been busy as founder of a new Artists' Group, "Port to Starboard" a self

guided tour of artist studios on North Pender, with our third year in August 2013.  Dates and Time: Sunday, August 4th and Monday August 5th. 10am -4pm.

Location:  Port and Starboard roads; Magic Lake area, past the Disc Park.

For six consecutive years, I have been accepted to the prestigious & juried Sidney Fine Art Show on Vancouver Island.

Currently I am represented by:

Gallery 8 on Saltspring Island,  British Columbia

Red Tree Gallery on Pender Island
